Joy Wulke (1948 - 2014) was a nationally recognized sculptor whose work bridges the boundary between visual art and architecture.
Since receiving her Masters of Environmental Design degree from Yale in 1974, she had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in U.S., Europe, and Japan. She has received a number of accolades and awards, including two Connecticut Commission on the Arts Artist Grants. Her commissions span the United States and include work for Lincoln Center Film Forum in New York and The Louisiana Worlds Fair. Wulke was a consultant with the Connecticut Commission on the Arts in the Art in Public Spaces program. She was founder of the non-profit Projects for a New Millennium, which initiated collaborative projects in Connecticut, New York, Montana, Florida, and California.

Joy Wulke Studio of Art & Design created environmental works of translucency and light in glass, fabric, metal, and natural materials for public, corporate, and private spaces.
Joy Wulke worked for 40 years collaborating with architects, designers, municipalities, percent for art agencies, and private clients, Every project was given individual attention to produce a work that engage users and enhance architectural and natural spaces with beauty and wonder. Wulke also created sculptural installations for exhibition gallery, university, and museum settings. Her work increasingly referenced the history of climate change incorporating wind and solar energy.

Projects for a New Millennium was established in 1993 by Joy Wulke, environmental artist, as a non-profit corporation to create collaborative events that foster the fusing of art, science, and ecological concerns as a means of discovery, appreciation, and stewardship of the natural world.
Projects for a New Millennium former collaborators continue to aspire to extend presentations and educational programming illustrating a useful and wondrous philosophy of life, a worldview that celebrates our differences while recognizing the importance of our timeless common goals of peace and freedom in an environmentally sound world.
Joy worked with a number of regular collaborators to create and grow Projects for a New Millennium, including Jamie Burnett, Istvan Peter B'racz, Gena Rho-Smith, Jeff Cone, Jeff Cone, Margaret Carl, Robin Comey, Joyce DeLauro, T. Charles Erickson, and Judy Sirota Rosenthal.
