ACES : Literacy Through The Arts

In partnership with ACES (Area Community Educational Services)

Joy Wulke, Lois Rho, and Gena Rho-Smith created arts-in-literacy strategies to develop and refine an arts-in-literacy curriculum for use in early childhood, Kindergarten, and community classroom settings.

The P2K team lead training workshops for parents/caregivers, teachers, and librarians in how to use the arts-in-literacy curriculum in a variety of settings to support family literacy and life long learning.

Literacy through the Arts was supported by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism in 2009 and 2009. We continue to create innovative programs using the arts; visual, dance, and music, to make the world of reading come alive for children and families.
