GENEROUS SUPPORT from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts

Alongshore, a series of presentations, field trips, and informational exhibitions about the health of the Branford River. Projects for a New Millennium collaborated with the The Branford River Project, a local environmental group actively involved in the restoration and preservation of the health of the Branford River, to create an art / science curriculum in the Branford High School. The program was created by Dave Johnson, Science Teacher and Madelyn Paskiewicz, Art Teacher. Environmental Artist Leila Daw contributed by instructing students about the relation and discovery of our natural environment through the arts on a field trip to Outer Island in the Thimble Islands in the Long Island Sound.

"The eye is part of the mind and the ability to read the qualitative world in which we live is a major avenue through which those forms we call thoughts are concentrated."

- Elliot Eiisner, author, Educating Artistic Vision
