GENEROUS SUPPORT from the Watershed Fund: Regional Water Authority, the David Bermant Foundation, and the Town of Branford

Water Wonders, a family day of water education and activities on Saturday, October 9, 2010 With events at the Blackstone Memorial Library and on the Branford Green, this free day-long event includes activities for families, story telling, a film series, and a variety of hands-on education programs presented by close to two dozen participating organizations.

Water Wonders was inspired by the unique diversity of Long Island Sound—from its tidal wetlands and coastal grasslands to inland forests—and the growing need to focus on conservation of this vital natural resource.

Water Wonders culminates at 7:00 p.m. with LUMINAQUA, a celebration of light and water on the Branford Green. The luminary sculpture made of water bottles, was created by Branford High School students, and was ceremoniously illuminated by Jamie Burnett of Luminous Environments with sound score by Istvan Peter B’Racz. Directed by Madelyn Paskiewicz.
